In postwar Germany, an American psychiatrist must determine whether Nazi prisoners are fit to go on trial for war crimes, and finds himself in a complex battle of intellect and ethics with Hermann Göring, Hitler's right-hand man.
“Driven by a commanding performance from Russell Crowe, Nuremberg is a handsomely crafted historical drama, but its measured pacing and emotional restraint keep it from fully realizing the complexity of its subject.”
This film tosses up some interesting questions, including doctor-patient confidentiality versus duty to the state, but doesn’t explore them in a convincing manner.

The film has only one flaw worth worrying about – but it’s a big one, almost derailing the whole narrative. It’s the casting of Malek.

Sit through the first slow-paced, overproduced part and the reward for not giving up is a supreme history lesson.

So much time is spent on peripheral matters that the story only comes into focus part of the time. But when it does, it’s powerful stuff.
