Hamlet

Darting from self-hating soliloquy to death-dealing desperation, Ahmed is exciting to watch and completely in command of his material – a fine Hamlet, able to combine a multiplicity of moods to convey the character’s complexity.

There are clunky moments... But there are many other moments that are really quite striking.

I agree with Polonius that brevity is the soul of wit, but not if that brevity comes at the expense of undercutting the play’s central themes. Ahmed gives his all, but it’s not enough to elevate this version above near-miss status.

Ahmed's performance of showing the psychological descent and showing the bursts of madness are incredibly well done.
