I strongly recommend that you see Robot, to partake in writer-director Shankar's prodigious imagination and to revel in the sheer force of nature that is Rajinikanth.

Shankar has been working on getting this film made for the past decade, and he clearly is so thrilled to get Robot into theaters that his enthusiasm is infectious. Filmgoers with a taste for the absurd will be richly rewarded.

To fully enjoy this nearly three-hour extravaganza, you have to be willing and able to buy into the Rajini myth.

The film's climax is worth the wait.
