Swapped!

The plot itself isn’t extraordinary but the critters populating this forest wonderland are.

It’s all rather predictable, but the world-building is distinctive and the animation is pleasingly lush.

Unlike the greatest Pixar films that the director, Nathan Greno, and his three writers are trying to emulate, any sharper messaging gets quickly cast aside for a fairly rote buddy comedy quest narrative.

["Swapped" is] simple, but it’s not mindless, executing a good story and delivering on a poignant message.
