The Ceremony is a jewel-box of a film -- lush and articulate in its evocation of the world and relationships of French author and dominatrix Catherine Robbe-Grillet. It purrs and thrums.

If you have an ounce of capitalist discomfort, ‘La cérémonie’ will surely begin to boil your blood, and that’s where things get interesting.

Make no mistake. This film is not solely about sex, at least not the physical act, it is supra-sexual, more about pushing sensual boundaries.

This movie is the French version of "Thelma & Louise". Okay, it's different from that classic, but oh so much fun to watch. Reverse-spoiler alert: the ending is very different.
