A startlingly brutal movie.

What makes Jack Cardiff's film even less appealing is its bloody-minded way with a violent scene... this sort of brutality to work in the cause of entertainment, is inexcusable.

A brief shot finds Rod Taylor at a river, on his knees, his eyes as wild as those of a creature slaking its thirst at a water hole. It's a brilliant evocation of the idea that man is the world's most scared yet dangerous and deadly animal.

Iron-fisted Rod Taylor actioner, also starring Jim Brown.
