The movie is an immersion as much as it is a narrative.

This conflict between modern medicine and superstition lends Kill, Baby...Kill! a moral volatility that's noticeably absent from other films in Bava's canon.

A story of collective guilt & implacable vindictiveness, as the past keeps returning to prey vampirically on the present - but also a story that travels through darkness to the dawn, ushering in a new epoch, exorcised of all diabolical vestiges.

…pick almost any horror movie and you can trace it back to Mario Bava and specifically this baroque, imaginative movie…the build up is creepy and has plenty of spooky narrative beats, and the pay off is satisfying…
