The risks inherent in our Internet-connected lives are brought into sharp focus by Ratter, a bracingly effective low-budget suspenser.

The film still impressively manages to get under the skin without feeling exploitative‎.

Ratter keeps its story contained to a simple, increasingly uncomfortable case of online prowling that manifests itself in a real, panic-inducing way.

Ratter wants to be provocative, but mistakes pushing buttons, with making a statement, and in the process undoes the potential of the movie, while betraying the audience's trust.
