Sims probably uses a setting-sun metaphor more than necessary, but otherwise his decisions are immaculate and his film should hold audiences in thrall.

Great performances ... elevate the film from merely likable to poignantly satisfying.

Takes a tough subject and amiably rides it out into the Outback sunset. It's a wry film that remains upbeat without betraying its rough-around-the-edges cast of characters.

There's no denying that audiences will enjoy Sims' film, laughing and crying at the exact moments it wants them to, but Sims having his heart in the right place can't entirely mask the mawkish and cheesy nature of the story.
