This probably isn’t the best introduction to Wood — the dialogue and acting aren’t quite as laughable — though everything to do with Bela, Tor, and the horrifying octopus is great.

The many flawed details of the film are embarrassing, but the film entire suggests a cry from the heart of a crippled poet.
