"Lake Bodom" is not so much a slasher film as a meta-slasher film, toying knowingly with genre conventions and touchstones.

Lake Bodom is apt to cause whiplash with its various plot developments, some more predictable than others, however, these switch-ups do more than keep viewers on their toes — they give the film an edge over its contemporaries.

A super-stylish slasher whose convoluted plot and tenuous connection to actual events hold it back from greatness.

Acting is, it's great shot flawlessly, and I dare you to predict what's gonna happen.
