The Trans List

The documentary may not win any awards for great filmmaking, but the information conveyed in The Trans List is vital, and the personal stories of trans people are compelling and sometimes heartbreaking.

Everything is carefully lit and composed, but there's no camera movement, just cutaways to still images. This isn't a liability if the speakers are compelling, and they usually are.

Their stories aren't always easy to hear, but throughout it all they collectively note the joy and freedom that comes with living openly despite the risks. For some, it's a celebration, while for others it continues to be a personal exploration.
