Its unusual amalgam of low-key, keenly observed naturalism and WTF inexplicability is potent enough to keep viewers enraptured.

This mesmerizing film from directors Rania Attieh and Daniel Garcia is filled with images that suggest connections to myth - like the head of a giant classical statue that's shown floating, impossible, down the Hudson River.

A concoction of images and repeated symbols will lodge themselves in your mind after the credits roll, but your remembrance of the film may feel more like a murky nightmare than a cohesive cinematic experience.
