The reason this movie works so well is because of the committed performances from everyone in the movie.

Standing among fellow faux-horror legend Cannibal Holocaust, Ghostwatch is the Godfather of ghostly found-footage horror.

Ghostwatch’s commitment to realism hinders its ability to craft a compelling narrative, but the novelty of the approach, the early examples of found footage tropes, and a satisfyingly spooky ending make it a worthwhile addition to any Halloween watchlist.
