Director Jamie Pearson creates a "Rosemary's Baby"-like vibe while the screenplay by Christian J. Hearn takes us to some very gnarly and despairing psychological places.

This badly made psychological horror is as lacking in narrative logic as it is uninvolving.

Occasionally televisual but not to its detriment, The Kindred is a perfectly paced indie horror packed with plenty of themes to explore, lots of thrills, and great performances.

Although grounded by a convincing central performance, The Kindred is too predictable for its own good, while being sluggish in terms of execution.
