This sweetly-charming children’s animation from the UK goes back to basics in style and content, grooming a smart idea into a purring success.

Even if some script and visual elements would surely have been smoothed over by a more conventional development process, the flaws add a human touch that makes the film strangely endearing.

While the feline protagonist keeps cheating death, his human companions in this British animated comedy are barely brought to life.

While you may call the animation itself retro style the story itself is heart-felt and may have even made this film reviewer tear up.
