A powerful window into this rowdy, angry and game-changing historical moment where gender and race collided

Misbehaviour tackles some serious themes, but it does so in a thoroughly entertaining fashion.

Caught in a tug-of-war between these two inimical angles, the film never blows up with the anarchic fury you're hoping for - it's polite and balanced to a dithering degree.

The narrative is inconsistent and never quite finds its rhythm as it toggles between characters and issues, but ultimately is pleasing enough and shows a deeper insight than most movies that tackle historical events and big issues.
