Good, ingenious fun until the sheer endlessness of it all starts to feel like being trapped in a disturbing cheese dream.

With "Kimmy vs The Reverend," the show reinvigorates itself by finding more compelling ways to indulge its own rhythms and aesthetic.

Its combination of an artificially positive sitcom world and the suggestion of a creepy and all-too-real world hovering at its edges gives "Kimmy vs. the Reverend" a knowing, postmodern feeling.

The show is still defined by its trademark wit, endless supply of jokes, and brilliant cast.
