The film is often genuinely funny, and its exuberance and righteous eat-the-rich messaging gives it real zest.

Dumb Money is relatively restrained for such a wild story, but it’s an engrossing one all the same.

I could barely keep my eyes open during this unfunny snoozer packaged as a wannabe heir to Adam McKay’s 2015 film “The Big Short.”

The film is less didactic than 2015’s the Big Short, far less serious than 1987’s Wall Street and more factual than 2000’s Boiler Room, but it’s funnier than all of them.
