River of Grass

With an ear for dialogue that burns deep and bright, and an eye for mad detail, Reichardt here proves herself a formidable talent.

It's not exactly action-filled, but its main character is explicit about what's on her mind and how deep-seated her desire to escape is.

It's almost too ethereal, it slips through your fingers when you try to grab it. Although that could be the point.

Far from the slick, over-stylized dialogue of Tarantino or Ritchie, there’s an emotional cadence to Reichardt’s work that rings with authenticity.
