They're not movies so much as variety shows featuring talented young comics.

...an erratic yet mostly affable comedy that benefits from its agreeable performances and smattering of hilarious digressions...

The real story is the arrival of Bobcat Goldthwait to the series.

Police Academy 2 won't win any awards and its humor is pure slapstick. Like most of the number sequels, this is a pale imitation of the first.
