While not at all "good," it does get points for enlisting B-movie queen Kari Wuhrer to carry the weight of the narrative.

Deader is narratively muddled due to franchise elements being forced into the script, as well as the Weinsteins' penny pinching. Still, Kari Wuhrer delivers a committed performance (her bathroom freak-out alone is worth the price of admission)

Has no aspirations higher than to just throw out garish, weird stuff to add some meager flavoring to its watery broth of a plot.

The film is sharper, scarier, gorier, and certainly more serious than the last few entries in the series.
