B

Budd Wilkins

RTSlant MagazineJul 29, 2025

Larry Cohen’s film is a barbed satire of 1980s consumer culture.

R

Rick Kogan

RTChicago TribuneMar 26, 2019

Peopled by leaden or hackneyed characters...The Stuff is further burdened by special effects of the most pedestrian kind.

N

Nick Schager

RTLessons of DarknessFeb 12, 2006

Its execution never lives up to its scrumptious satiric premise.

M

Mike Massie

RTGone With The TwinsSep 25, 2025

Gory sequences do finally arise at the climax – a nonsensical showdown of sorts – but it doesn’t offset the unnecessary humor and the pervasive lack of sincerity.
