Horror Express looks back not entirely nostalgically at British imperialist values from the turn of the century... It's a fun ride while it lasts, even if few of its images are likely to remain imprinted on your retina.

a rare cinematic trifle for fans of murder mysteries, science fiction, train-based mayhem, and even zombies! It shouldn’t work, but totally does, and is easily one of the most purely entertaining horror efforts of the 1970s.

There's much more to the film than a simple synopsis - should I drop a hint that a dinosaur makes an appearance? - but part of its allure is that it takes all manner of detours, both fun and far-fetched.

It's not just a rampaging creature... It's more than just a monster. There's some real depth to it.
