It's a simple, efficient sci-fi thriller with big Blockbuster aspirations but without much charisma or soul.

The big twist is a good one, there are some decent action sequences and Lizzy Caplan is always good to watch, but there isn't enough here to keep things from dragging.

It's a narrative that is familiar in most of sci-fi, but how thoroughly this film follows that preceding movie's beats is disappointingly uncreative.

...somewhat generic and tedious...
