Critics consensus

“While it may not be on par with his best crime capers, No Sudden Move finds Soderbergh on entertainingly familiar ground -- and making the most of an excellent cast.”

This is a crime thriller with great acting that once again illustrates Steven Soderbergh's mastery of the genre.

"No Sudden Move" is a remarkably effervescent affair: not so much frothy as high-spirited, even when the story seems to be moving with the studied grace of a mime.

RTThe Film MagazineAug 8, 2023

No Sudden Move continues Soderbergh’s strong post-retirement phase and is a winning return to a genre that he has helped to make his own in the past three decades.
